Appearance
Leopards are big cats with short limbs for their bodies length. They are distinguished by their spots called rosettes. The rosettes are packed closely together and can be some what round to somewhat squarish depending on region. Most of the spots are solid but some will be a dark out line with a center color that is dark than the base coat color. The leopards fur has a base color of a tawny yellow to a light yellow-orange. Its under parts turn lighter in color. The tail is some long for its body. Its eyes are yellow to golden
Attitude
The leopard is a solitary and elusive cat and will only encounter other leopards when mating or if its a mother with cubs. Males have a range that they maintain and some distance exist between them. Females often overlap each others and a few males. Some females have had their territory complete surrounded by a lone males territory.
A leopard often hunts in areas that are occupied by other carnivores that are larger. To protect their young and kills they use a tree to keep it out of the reach of other predators. To avoid conflicts with the competition they will change their hunting times and avoid areas frequented by larger animals. Their claws have adapted to climbing trees with the extra weight, up to heavy encumbrance, 6 meters (over 19 feet) up a tree.
Leadership
Leopards do not have any known leadership.
Encounter Tactics
Leopard excel at the stealth kill. They have been reported to sneak within a few meters of a target and launch a quick and brutal attack at the animals throat causing asphyxia. Once dead the leopard will drag the kill off and up a tree.
